Die Flagge ist in den panarabischen Farben gestaltet und wird in
dieser Form in Palästina seit 1948 verwendet. Die Fahne selbst ist aber
älter - von 1920 bis 1926 war sie die Fahne des Königreiches Hedschas.

Die Hymne, auch bekannt als die "Hymne des Intifada" (oder
"Hymne der palästinensischen Revolution") wurden von Said Al Muzayin in den
1970er Jahren geschrieben und die Musik wurde vom ägyptischen Ali Ismael komponiert.
